An hour’s drive from Johannesburg, near the town of Heidelberg a  government run reserve with hiking trails and road cycling. The Trails either go over or around the mountains with breathtaking views. 

There are 3 different trails to choose from:

• Cheetah: 4 km (easy)
• Bokmakierie: 10km (medium) / 17km (medium to hard) 

The path way is clear and one cant go off track, there is a green and yellow foot print spread out to show you still on the right track 

When you get to 7km the trail splits for those who choose to do the 17km or finish off the 10km trail. 

On entrance you can ask for a booklet that will have the History of Suikerbosrand, the map and what birds and animals are in the area.
